From Asian shores to Alberta Prairies - Books & Multi-media Materials Drive (Collaboration with Alberta Public Library Services and the Calgary Public Library) Announced at Kick-Off May 7th, Free admission
Inspired by the 10,000 book donation by the Chinese Consulate to the Calgary Public Library two years ago, the Asian Heritage Foundation begins an ongoing project to raise funds and to acquire Asian books and multi-media material for donation to Public Libraries in Southern Alberta. Specifically, this boosts the collections of public libraries in smaller city centres and rural areas where there is a burgeoning need to serve culturally diverse library users. This initiative is gaining support among the local Asian community associations eager to make a lasting contribution with far-reaching benefits. This book drive will involve a presentation to the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton May 6th.
