This intergenerational exhibition featuring Calgarian artists of Chinese descent will feature contemporary and traditional artworks at the Chinese Cultural Centre. The purpose is to encourage and promulgate the celebration and promotion of Chinese arts and culture in Calgary to all its citizens and visitors by creating a dialogue between traditional and contemporary Chinese artists across generations.

A component of this exhibition will be a panel discussion where audience members will be able to view and participate in panel discussions exploring themes surrounding Chinese Heritage: individual and community identity, gender issues, materials and techniques, history and politics, culture shock, generation gaps and links, future aims in Calgary, and more. This show will rouse questions of who, what, where, when, and why of ‘heritage’.
The opening reception coincides with the 2009 Special Conference presented by The Historical Society of Alberta & Chinook Country Historical Society in partnership with the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre (see further below for more detail)
